Upcoming Florida Humanities Council Programs
The Florida Humanities Council will be presenting the following programs at the Okeechobee County Public Library.
Carrie Sue Ayvar will be portraying “Doc Anner: the Petticoat Doctor” on November 30th at 7 p.m. The Historical Society has graciously agreed to provide old-fashioned refreshments for the event.
January 11th: Gary Mormino, historian and author presents Land of Sunshine, State of Dreams, based upon the research for his book of the same name.
January 25th: Grant Livingston, Florida Folksinger,
February 8th: John Moran, “Florida’s Photographer Laureate,” presents “Journal of Light,” This is a Roads Scholar Program which is sponsored by the Friends of the Library.
February 29th: Christopher Still, “Painting Florida’s Legacy.” His artwork currently hangs in the main lobby of the library.
